Karl Blossfeldt

Karl Blossfeldt (June 13, 1865 – December 9, 1932 - age 67) was a German photographer, sculptor, teacher and artist who worked in Berlin, Germany

I like the tone incorporated into the pieces of blossfeldts work which give the pieces depth, which also make the pieces appear ageless through the monochromatic tones.

Franz marc:covered artists

Franz Marc (February 8, 1880 – March 4, 1916) was a German painter and printmaker, one of the key figures of the German Expressionist movement. He was a founding member of Der Blaue Reiter (The Blue Rider), a journal whose name later became synonymous with the circle of artists collaborating in it.

the pieces of franz marc are cubist with angular edges and shapes the idea of taking an object and simplifying it to make it appear extraordinary or more surreal.Again like Théophile Alexandre Steinlen he uses a limited colour scheme, mostly using ochre colours or colours of the earth. The use shadow reflects greatly within these pieces creating depth to the work and that is what I am incororating into my work the use of shadows.

Théophile Alexandre Steinlen-artists covered

Théophile Alexandre Steinlen, frequently referred to as just Steinlen (November 10, 1859 – December 13, 1923), was a Swiss-born French Art Nouveau painter and printmaker.

the work of the artist ispires me personally with his use of a limited colur scheme/palate, which creates a focal point within the image draws attention to the cat in the foreground which is a block black this theme runs throughout the pieces of the artist. This and the printing technique which means that the print could be reproduced multiple times with the same quality each time it is printed, the pieces also have a flowing style attributing to his art deco style.

Salvador Domingo Felipe Jacinto Dalí i Domènech, 1st Marqués de Dalí de Pubol (May 11, 1904 – January 23, 1989), surrealist work. His painterly skills are often attributed to the influence of Renaissance masters.

the work of salvador dali is the surrealIst frontrunner one of the orignal forefathers of the surrealist movement his work is a riot of colour and tone with natural shadows using darker tones of the same colour.

Geyda Egon:covered artists

Photo career Geyda Egon (Egon Gade) began in 1981. At the age of 22, Egon opened a studio in the heart of Copenhagen. In the 80′s and 90′s of the Egon Geyd was known in Denmark as an advertising and still life photographer. Today, to his credit numerous international awards, and collaboration with companies such as Carlsberg, Bang & Olufsen, Montana, etc.

this is a more modern take on the surrealist movement with the use of modern technology to make the real become surreal, usin mediums such as photoshop, and other photoediting devices, which unlike the tradictional painting technices is more blended and flowing

Adonna in my opionion is trying to make surrealism marketable by introducing animals and tried to make her work of an interest to a popular modern society, mixing in splashes of colour with dark monochromatic tones.
